Homo Viator

Esaaaaa! According to Fortune magazine, Steve Jobs is the most powerful person in business. I am not sure if I agree on that, but as long as this news does the Apple stock good, I am happy. I would call him the most influential business person in the world, because Apple products transform every product category they enter.
But I would personally consider Sergei Brin to be the most powerful person in business. I think we could all live without Apple products, but a world without Google would look a lot different. Not only that all of us (With us I mean everyone reading this post) use Google on a daily basis or at least various times a week. The real power of Google comes from its advertising model. Without Google, we would not have the diversity of internet sites that we have. Millions of sites live off Google AdSense. I cant believe that Fortune puts the Google trio only in 4th place. To me this is a clear proof that a) Old media still does not have the vision that New Media has and b) Old Media has trouble acknowledging the overtaking power of New Media. Fortune, get over it! You missed the train, all of you! Mark my words: Sergei or the Google CEO will lead this list within the next 5 years!
