Sarah Lacey

I had not blogged about the Sarah Lacey controversy at the SXSW conference, because I figured that most of my new techy readers would not have a big interest in the story. To summarize: Sarah Lacey, a BusinessWeek journalist, interviewed Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder) at the SXSW conference and while on stage was bashed by a pretty hostile audience that did not like her questions. The audience aggregated its thoughts and agression live via twitter, which made poor Sarah really loose touch with an audience that among themselves was keeping direct contact. All live! Pretty revolutionary if you ask me. Anyway, Sarah was criticized heavily, but even though I agree with most bloggers who would have liked her to crowdsource her questions to Mark and ask what the audienc wanted to hear, I do think that she handled the hostility towards her and the interview pretty damn well. After all, she is a professional journalist first and a blogger second, which may explain her rather traditional interviewing approach.
Why am I writing about this incident now, weeks after it has passed? Because I just saw an interview with her that was being shot yesterday, where she speaks about the disastrous keynote with Mark and I must say that I would consider myself a Lacey fan after seeing that video. She seems bright, eloquent, funny, cute and charming. I wish there were more geeks like that!
Will definately read her book.

Below you will first find her latest interview and second her controversial itv with Mark Zuckerberg.
