Love the idea behind the project of 6billionothers, which seeks to create an archive like account of peoples' dreams, fears and concerns at the turn of the 21st century. Researchers and historians of future generations may be thankful. The site feauture lots of videos from the developing world and it somehow brings back memories of my travels. Faces and languages that I have seen and heard but was never was able to truly understand. The short stories of the peoples' lives are translated on the site, which makes it ever more appealing. Have rarely seen anything so human on the net. The design is fantastic as well.

So what should it be: The new iPhone or the new Blackberry. Maybe both?

I obviously know that I leave traces of my life online: I have a blog and post pics on facebook from time to time. Even though I do not allow public viewing of my pics on facebook, my profile picture is made public without my explicit approval (it must be somewhere in the small print). Just two weeks after my nieces have been born, there is already a picture of Carlotta and me that anyone who knows my name can have a look at. I know that this is hardly to the pleasure of Carlotta's mom and I would rather not have that much transparency either. This is what I like about my blog. Everything that is on my blog (Pics, Videos, etc.) is googlable, because I choose for it to be.

What I cannot understand is how people can leave their adresses and mobile numbers on facebook. Friends of mine who have done that keep telling me about cold calls from advertisers on their cell phones. I have never received such a cold call and would freak out if I ever did.

Anyway, on 123people.com you can track your online traces. It is rather surprising to see where some of my videos end up. One website created a channel with the title Schnippo's Videos. I am cool with that, since by choosing to post videos on my blog, I know that these become public and in the worst case scenarion could also land on Youporn for example.

These HP ads are already a little older, but I still find some versions that I have never seen before. Wonderful visuals! I had already blogged about the Jay-Z one, here are some more:

"The first phone to beat the iPhone.... the new iPhone!" Great Copy, although one must admit that the first iPhone was severly beaten by the Nokia N95, which already had 3G, GPS and a 5mpx camera. The new iPhone follows suit with these specs. I will definately get it, but will keep my eyes open for the new Nokia, because I am super content with the N95 and the new N95 will probably get even better specs. Anyway, it is time to buy an iPhone. The first one was the biggest rip off if you ask me. A phone that had specs that Nokia had years ago, with a price that Nokia never had. The new iPhone is twice as fast for half the price.
